WinNc, filemanager for Vista

Dunes MultiMedia has released their new WinNc version 4.8

When it comes to file management in Windows, WinNc is packed with features.

WinNc has all the makings of an excellent replacement for Windows Explorer. It features an attractive, independent double-pane view (selecting a path or file in one pane has no effect on the other) and offers drag-and-drop support for moving files between the panes. Lots of tool buttons and menu items provide access to standard file-management methods. You can easily format, copy, move, delete, view, and edit files multithreaded. This means you can copy a large file and listen to a MP3 at the same time. In addition, WinNc supports file splitting, encryption, and compression using the standard ZIP format. WinNc also supports all other regular compression standards. Use it to create shortcuts, compare and synchronize folders, back up important data, read network drives, search for files, and much more. You can even use it to handle all of your file transfers via FTP. WinNc can rip audio cd’s directly to mp3, using a cddb server for file naming. An internal text viewer, a text editor and graphic file viewer are also part of the package.

WinNc is able to view the following formats:
JPG, GIF, BMP, TGA, TIFF, WMF, PCX, MP3, WAV, FLC, DOCS, XLS, HTML, DIVX, MID and AVI.
The following compression standards are supported:
.ZIP | .ARJ | .LZH | .RAR | .CAB | .LHA | .GZ | ._** (MSCOMPRESS) | .PAK | .TAR | .ACE | .GZIP
