Why doesn’t my registration work?

Please try to hold the CTRL key while starting. This way you can reset the startup settings. The reset registration data option will clear the current registration and may clear problems related to the registration data.

If I update from v5 to v6, why does my registration data gets lost?

We have reports from some users that the registration data gets lost when updating from v5 to v6. A workaround is to re-install v6 in a new / empty folder (e.g. Program Files/WinNc 6/)

Can I upgrade WinNc with a discount?

How do I get the latest bugfixes?

To check if bugs are already fixed we also we recommend to update the beta versions. All the latest small fixes are active there. (Options > Options > “Update beta versions”) The beta version is only available to registered users.

How can I reach the context menu in WinNc similar to explorers’?

You need to right click on the icon instead of the filename, right clicking the filename will select the file.

Why does it sometimes take so long to start WinNc?

WinNc will check all network drives and CD-ROM whether they are ready. Most CD-ROM stations and network stations may take some time to check. You can disconnect network drives you do not use to make WinNc start faster.
